We are what we eat, so let's talk about the food we are putting into our mouths!
Advice about food and diet abounds and trying to read through it all and understand it all is hard work. Basic common sense often prevails, but the lure of fad diets are often too much and many mums go from one diet plan to the other, often making their weight yo-yo.
A good diet is essential to both how you look and how you feel. Certain foods pack on the pounds, others make you feel lethargic and others can provide a boost to energy levels and mood.
There is also the question of supplements. There are a myriad of vitamin and mineral supplements available on shelves in health shops, chemists and supermarkets. Trying to wade through them all to find out what you need and if they are actually going to help is a difficult job for the experts, let alone the lay person!
In this section we cover nutrition, with Dr Karen Munday. Dr Munday specialises in nutrition and is presently a lecturer and researcher in nutrition at Massey University.
