Welcome to our Travel Section!

Travelling with kids is not for the fainthearted! Get top tips for travelling with a baby or travelling with a toddler - including travel checklists here.

Travel with kids can be a lot of fun...or it can be the complete opposite!  Just like the Girl Guide motto: BE PREPARED it's all about planning and then being able to relax and let go of the plans.  It might sound oxymoronic but it's true!

Any travel experience you've had prior to having children will be a distant memory.  It's good to think of a family holiday more as a change of scenery rather than a break.  When travelling with kids, they will be in unfamiliar surroundings, sometimes they are in new time zones and so behaviour and sleep can both suffer.

There are some major benefits to travelling with kids.  They get to catch up or meet family and friends and they also get to have experiences outside of their normal day to day lives.

In this section, we seek to give you all the information you need when travelling with babies (both young and older), toddlers and preschoolers and school age children. We give tips for planning a holiday and provide a packing checklist.

We will soon be adding destinations - places to go in New Zealand that are family friendly!
